'10 Tips to keep your August wedding beautiful'

#1 Pops of color! Dahlias, sunflowers, lilies, lavender,  eucalyptus, olive and willow branches are great bursts of color and texture for bridal bouquets and wedding flower arrangements for tables, arches and centerpieces.

#2 Get your guests moving! Activities such as lawn games, cigar bars and photo booths are fun and interactive.

#3 Cool clothing! Summer months can be hot and humid. Guys look just as handsome in shirts, ties and vests or shirts with suspenders and bowties - ditching the full suit is a casual and trendy way to dress them for your wedding.

#4 Fun with food! Treat your guests to wedge salad on a stick, tomato soup and mini grilled cheese shot glasses, or sliders on their way out the door. Finger foods and fixings are a clean and easy way to keep your guests feeling satisfied and full!

#5 Beach Wedding? If marrying at the beach ~ offering guests flip flops and a shoe drop-off ~ makes for easy walking in the sand!

#6 Shade Please! Shade is a must for guests at an outdoor summer wedding. Sail shades, umbrellas, or a venue with natural landscape shade covering is a MUST to keep guests cool and happy.

#7 Supply baskets! Baskets with sundries ~ Tum’s, Tylenol, feminine products, bandaids, dental floss, hairspray, etc. are a welcome site for guests (in need) on a bathroom countertop.

#9 No Ants Please! Satchels filled with ground cinnamon placed at the legs of tables, belly bars, cocktail and dessert tables are an easy way to keep ants from invading.

#9 Keeping Card Gifts Safe! An easy way to keep your card gifts safe and secure (during your wedding and reception) is to have guests deposit them in a decorative bird cage, unique box, or an old piece of luggage with an envelope slit. This will keep them safe and secure until they are ready to go home with you!

#10 Pretty Drinks! Add a touch of fresh fruit or vegetable garnish to your drinks for added visual pleasure, color and taste!

More to come…

'Wedding Wishes'

Toasts are always a great way to extend good wishes and congratulations to the newlyweds. However, prolonged speeches can make the bride and groom uneasy and guests antsy.

So for those who are designated “toast givers”
(father of the bride, best man, made of honor, etc.)
thank them in advance for honoring you by giving a speech, but ask them to keep it “short and sweet”.

Also, talk to your D.J. about “queuing” up some music (like they do at the Oscars) to gently wind down the speech giver.

Happy Wedding!!!

'Good Manners Never Go Out Of Style!'

Show your guests how much you appreciate their gift by sending a well written (and timely) thank you note. For an updated twist, a picture of the bride and groom on the front of a postcard works too!

Start off with a greeting appropriate to your relationship with the gift giver:
Ex. Dear Jim, Dearest Aunt Rose, Dear Joe & Sue.

Second - Tell the recipient why you are writing to them:
Ex. Roger and I are writing to thank you for coming to our wedding. It was much more memorable with you both there!

Third - Mention the gift the recipient gave you:
Ex. We are really thrilled with the Food Saver!

Fourth - Tell the recipient why you love the gift:
Ex. It will come in handy for meal prepping and storing leftovers.

Fifth - Thank them again.
Ex. Thank you again! We so appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.

Sixth - Closing.
Ex. Sincerely, Most Sincerely, All Our Love or
Love & Hugs.

Again, good manners never go out of style and your gift givers will appreciate you acknowledging their gift to you.

'Fabulous Fall Weddings!'

Fall is such a wonderful season for warm drinks, toasty fires and beautiful harvest moonlit skies. A Fall wedding has endless opportunities to incorporate beautiful rich color schemes, textured natural materials and foliage, vinettes for intimate group gatherings and romantic lighting.

Here are some ideas to help make your Fall wedding the talk of the town!

Fall color (in of itself) with traditionally beautiful colors of  gold, burgundy, reds and yellows are amazing. But there are also gorgeous Fall colors such as beiges, browns, grey and whites that look equally as gorgeous and can be a welcomed twist to the Fall color palette..

Vinettes for intimate small group gatherings amongst a larger group of wedding guests can include a s’mores bar, a whiskey bar, a cigar bar, a board game area, a large game area, and a fireside area.

Romantic lighting can be achieved by hanging twinkle lights in trees on strands, votive candles hanging on crystal bobesheas in trees, twinkle lights inside of wine bottles or mason jars, uplighting in trees and strand lights behind fabric walls; just to name a few.

Some delicious drinks to warm your insides:

Hot Apple Cider Rum Punch
Maple Bacon Hot Buttered Bourbon
Mulled Wine

'Bringing Out The Beautiful Bride In You!'

Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life. Amongst all of the preparation and planning (which is why you hire Blissful Weddings & Co. to be your trusted Wedding Planner!) it is easy to forget about yourself. Here are a few tips to help you feel and look your best on your wedding day.

~ Let your inner and outer beauty shine brightly! Plan a trial run for your hair and make-up
so that you capture the exact style you are looking for on your wedding day.

~ Do a full “dress rehearsal”. Easy enough to do on the day you schedule your trial run for hair
and make-up. Try on your entire wedding ensemble to make sure everything
fits; no detail in jewelry, clothing, hair or make-up has been overlooked.

~ Wear your wedding day shoes around the house every evening for two weeks prior to your
wedding day. No blisters and no sore feet on your big day!

~ Purchase a cute pair of flats - even simple ballet slippers ~ that you can change in to for
   dancing during your reception.

~ Don’t do any extreme dieting days or months before your wedding. It upsets the chemical
balance in your body and can cause your hair and skin to look dull and dehydrated.  Your
groom fell in love with all of you; whatever size that is. “Rock what you’ve got” as the
   saying goes!

~ Drink plenty of water!  So very important for beautiful skin and overall well being.

~ Don’t go overboard on exercising right before your wedding. Having sore muscles (or even
worse) a pulled muscle trying to walk down the isle or dance would be no fun at all and quite
painful. Gentle Yoga offers lengthening, strengthening and relaxation components that have
   great personal benefits.

~ Meditating even for 5 minutes will yield amazing results. Our trusted friend and expert in
this area of expertise is Holly Morrow with HOLLY - BLU-eden. She offers a free Meditation
video on You Tube. Power Up Meditation (http://www.blu-eden.com/holly.html)  Enjoy!

~ Do hire a wedding planner.  It’s one of the best gifts you can give yourself! A really great

wedding planner will work tirelessly for you to make your day exactly as you would like it to be.

'Personalizing Your Wedding…'

There are lots of unique and fun ways to personalize your wedding and reception. Whatever you choose, it’s best to let your story, your personalities and your personal taste shine through. And don’t forget, if your heritage contains beautiful cultural customs and traditions; include those for your guests to enjoy. It will make your wedding special and unique.
Here are some ideas you might consider:

Pass your rings for all guests to bless before exchanging them with your partner.
Have your officiant tell “your story”. How you met and what brought you to marrying.
Invite other married couples in attendance to re-commit to each other while you are saying your "I Do’s".
Ask the couple in attendance (who has been married the longest) to share what their secret to a long happy marriage is.
The Italians shatter china (hoping for it to break into a million pieces) signifying the years of happiness the bride and groom will share together.
The Celtic ceremony includes the bride and groom Hand Fasting - that is - locking hands and tying them together with a ribbon signifying two individuals coming together.

Unity symbols of all kinds. Light a unity candle, tie a symbolic knot, plant a tree, combine two kinds of wine, pour two colors of sand into one vase, brand initials into wood, splatter paint a canvas, handcuffs (for law enforcement). The sky and your imagination is the limit!
Remembering loved ones passed. A moment of silence, the ringing of a bell, photographs on a remembrance table with a lit candle.
Including your four legged family member. (Just remember to have a lint roller nearby!). There are so many beautiful ways to include and share your personality, what is meaningful to you, and a piece of heritage or traditional with your guests. Whatever that may be, make it uniquely your own!

 'Flowers, Greenery and Your Wedding…'

Flowers and greenery add such a beautiful touch and will complete the look of your bridal party and wedding venue decor. While the cost can be expensive there are ways to work within your budget and still achieve the look that you want.

Choose seasonal flowers. Check with your florist to see which flowers are plentiful during the month you are choosing to marry, and in the area where you live.  These will often be less expensive.

The use of various types of greenery has become a beautiful way decorate and add texture and natural beauty to bouquets, boutonnieres, tables, chairs and arches.

Another possibility is to reserve your bridal party bouquets for decor once the ceremony and pictures are complete. Most bouquets get tossed on a tabletop or chair when the eating, dancing and visiting begin. Use them as part of the venue decor to add beauty and extend the time of their use.

If there is one particular flower that you love and have to have it in your bouquet - then do it. But add one or two of that expensive choice amongst other less expensive flowers or greenery filler.

Try using a touch of your theme for added interest and to cut down on flower expense. A starfish or seashell for beach weddings are perfect. Sprigs of pine and berries look beautiful for ranch weddings. Crystals or pearls for a classic elegant wedding. Succulents for a natural wedding.

Mostly, choose a trusted florist.  Meet with them, talk with them and get a sense that they truly understand your needs. After that put your trust in them. They are the experts in their field. They are true artists and love what they do. Their primary goal is for you to be happy and to do their part in making your wedding day beautiful and memorable.
